If you haven’t already heard the exciting news, Maison Sport has launched Ski Touring, Cross Country Skiing and Telemarking on the platform.

So, if you haven’t been able to teach much this season, there is no better opportunity to offer customers these alternative ski-related activities and maximise your bookings this season.

Since launching Ski Touring, Cross-Country and Telemark Skiing, we are thrilled to see that in just one week, 40% of our bookings have been for Ski Touring and we predict that this will only keep increasing as customers continue to make last-minute bookings in particular, with Instructors who have Instant Book turned on.

It is becoming increasingly evident that these disciplines are becoming more and more popular and in-demand as there’s nothing more exciting for customers than a new adventure. So, if you’re able to offer customers these extra ski-related activities whilst we wait for ski resorts to reopen in some parts of Europe, there is no better time to add any of these disciplines to your profile to increase your revenue.

As most of you are already aware, all these disciplines are a full-body workout and brilliant calorie-burners. Cross country skiing, in particular, is known to be one of the best cardiovascular exercises you can do.

They are exceptional in engaging your core muscles and combining a mixture of strength, endurance and cardio which has become the real incentive for customers to book these activities. After a year full of uncertainty and restrictions, customers are eager and up for a challenge more than ever before to rebuild their strengths and muscles in preparation for next season!

It is no surprise that more and more people are eager for the chance to try it out which is why at Maison Sport, we wouldn’t want you to miss out on maximising your bookings by offering any of these disciplines to your customers.

Origins of Cross-Country Skiing

Cross-country skiing is actually known to be one of the oldest types of skiing and originated as a means of travel on snow-covered terrain via skis in Scandinavian countries and later developed as a sport towards the end of the 19th century.

Once upon a time skis were an essential mode of transportation for Norwegians to hunt and gather firewood in preparation for the harsh winter weather. For many centuries, cross-country skiing was also a means of social interaction between individuals in different communities. As there was no other form of transport between these sparse and isolated communities, cross-country skiing allowed people to keep in touch.

In some ways, it still does today, as the instructor community continues to grow and we continue to share and teach our experiences, we are constantly communicating and keeping in contact with customers, friends, family and colleagues through the art and descent of ski.

By combining your love of skiing, a full calorie-burner adventure with scenic views and a dose of fresh air, these alternative ski activities are the perfect disciplines to add to your profile and start receiving bookings.

There are a number of benefits to offering Ski Touring, Telemark and Cross-Country Skiing to your customers, but most importantly they will create exceptional opportunities to maximise your bookings this season while still being on the slopes in your skis.

Add these disciplines to your profile to keep teaching and exploring the true essence and origins of skiing.
