Nendaz Resort Overview
Positioned at 1,400m with the highest ski lift reaching 3,330m, Nendaz is located in the heart of the Swiss Alps and is a central part of the Four Valleys ski area, one of the largest ski areas in Europe, offering 412km of diverse, skiable terrain.
Established in the 1960s, Nendaz is a blend of traditional Swiss charm and modern conveniences, providing a range of accommodation options from luxury chalets to affordable apartments. The resort is renowned for its reliable snow conditions and offers excellent skiing from mid-December through to mid-April.
Skiing in Nendaz
Nendaz offers superb skiing for skiers of all abilities. The resort operates three lift pass options; a beginner’s ski pass which allows novices to master the basics on easy terrain via 12 lifts, a Nendaz-only ski pass, which enables access to the 30 lifts in Nendaz and over 100km of pistes and finally the full Four Valleys ski pass which offers a staggering 412km of pisted terrain to explore.
The resort boasts several gentle, wide slopes for beginners, with the Pracondu and Tracouet areas offering perfect conditions for learning. For intermediates, the varied terrain provides endless opportunities for exploration, with the blue and red runs of Siviez and Tortin being particularly popular.
Advanced skiers will relish the challenge of the legendary Mont-Fort and the black runs at Plan-du-Fou. For those seeking off-piste skiing, the freeride areas of Mont-Fort and Tortin are a must.
Nendaz is also home to the Burton Progression Park, a snow park designed for both skiers and snowboarders, offering a fun and challenging environment for honing freestyle skills.

Nendaz is an excellent ski resort for families, offering an array of family-friendly amenities such as child-friendly restaurants, an ice rink and several sledging areas. The resort offers a variety of accommodation options, many of which are ski-in-ski-out, and there are special family lift pass deals and discounts for children under the age of 16.

Nendaz boasts a vibrant après ski scene, with a variety of bars, restaurants and cafes to enjoy. The Cactus Saloon is a popular choice for live music, while the Premier Alpine Centre Bar is well-known for its cocktails and inviting atmosphere. For late-night revelling, the Edelweiss Club is the place to be, staying open until the early hours.

Nendaz is home to a range of excellent eateries. In the resort, Le Grenier offers a delicious gourmet menu, La Lanterne et le Vieux Chalet serves Swiss specialities in a cosy setting and Tracouet’s restaurant boasts a large, sunny, piste-side terrace. How to Get to Nendaz
The fastest way to get to Nendaz from the UK is to fly to Geneva Airport, which is a 2h transfer from Nendaz. Other nearby airports include Sion Airport (20m), Bern Airport (1h20m),and Zurich Airport (2h30m). If you are travelling by train, Sion is the nearest station (20m transfer). If you choose to drive to Nendaz, there is plenty of parking available in the resort.
