Morzine Resort Overview

Morzine resort stats

Sitting at 1,000m, Morzine is nestled in the heart of the Haute Savoie region in France. It is the central resort in the Portes du Soleil ski area, which offers 650km of diverse skiable terrain, spanning 12 ski resorts across France and Switzerland. Morzine’s low altitude can result in reduced snow cover at the beginning and end of the season. However, you won’t have to worry if there is limited snow at resort-level, as the Portes Du Soleil ski area is one of the most snow-sure ski areas in Europe.

Morzine is linked directly to its neighbouring resorts of Avoriaz (1,800m) and Les Gets via an excellent lift system. The charming, picture-perfect Savoyard village is surrounded by tree-lined runs and the river Drance cuts through its centre. It has a traditional alpine feel and accommodation mainly consists of wooden mountain chalets. The year-round live-in mountain town is full of character and has an authentic and lively atmosphere. It’s also reasonably priced, so there’s no wonder why it’s a firm favourite with families.
