Megève Resort Overview

Megève is a charming French resort located at 1,113m, with the highest ski lift reaching up to 2,355m. This breathtaking resort is situated in the heart of the French Alps and provides access to the Evasion Mont Blanc ski area, which offers 445km of skiable terrain. 

Megève was developed in the 1920s and has managed to retain its traditional Savoyard charm while offering a range of accommodation options, from luxurious chalets and hotels to more budget-friendly apartments. Skiing in Megève

Megève offers a fantastic skiing experience for skiers of all levels. With access to the Evasion Mont Blanc ski pass, you can enjoy a staggering 445km of pisted terrain across the resort and surrounding areas. 

Megève is a paradise for beginners with plenty of gentle, wide slopes for practising. For intermediate skiers, there is an abundance of blue and red runs to explore, with the Mont d’Arbois sector being particularly enjoyable. 

Advanced skiers will not be disappointed in Megève either. There are challenging black runs, such as the infamous Emile Allais slope on the Rochebrune mountain, and plenty of off-piste opportunities for those seeking an adrenaline rush. The 445km of pisted terrain alongside ample off-piste options ensures that there’s always a new challenge waiting to be conquered. 

Is Megève Family-Friendly?

Megève is a perfect resort for families. The pedestrianised town centre and diverse range of ski-in-ski-out accommodation make it safe and convenient for families. There are also plenty of family-friendly amenities including a sports centre, an ice rink, a cinema and a range of shops and restaurants. 

Après-Ski Scene in Megève

Megève offers a refined après ski scene compared to some of the more party-focused resorts. That said, there are still plenty of bars, restaurants, and cafes to enjoy. Jazz Club de Megève is a popular spot for live music and cocktails, while Bar Saint Paul is perfect for a relaxing drink after a day on the slopes. 

Dining in Megève

Megève boasts an impressive culinary scene with a range of dining options. For a gastronomic treat, head to Flocons de Sel, a three Michelin-starred restaurant. La Sauvageonne offers a cosy atmosphere and delicious Savoyard specialities. For a more casual meal, Le Puck is a popular pizzeria in the resort. 

How to Get To Megève 

The three closest airports to Megève are Geneva Airport (1h), Chambery Airport (1h20m), and Lyon Airport (2h). If you’re travelling by train, the nearest station is Sallanches (12km away). If you choose to drive to Megève, there are several car parks available in and around the resort.
