Les Saisies Resort Overview

Located in the heart of the Savoie Mont Blanc region, Les Saisies village is a charming ski resort perched at an elevation of 1,650m, with the highest ski lift reaching 2,350m. The resort is beautifully positioned on a plateau with stunning panoramas of Mont Blanc and the Beaufortain Massif. 

Built in traditional Savoyard style, the resort offers a range of accommodation options from cosy chalets, luxurious hotels to self-catered apartments, many of which provide ski-in-ski-out access. The resort maintains a good snow record and is known for its microclimate, often referred to as the ‘French Tyrol.’ The ski season in Les Saisies typically runs from early December to late April.

Skiing in Les Saisies

Les Saisies offers a truly diverse skiing experience for all levels of skiers. The resort is part of the Espace Diamant ski area, which boasts an impressive 192km of pisted terrain to explore, accessed via 81 lifts. 

Beginners can enjoy the gentle, wide slopes around the resort, with the Carrets and Chard du Beurre areas being particularly well-suited for those starting out. For intermediate skiers, the variety of blue and red runs, such as the Bisanne and La Légette, offer a great mix of cruising and challenging terrain. 

Les Saisies also caters to advanced skiers with a selection of demanding black runs like La Forclaz and La Véry. Freestyle fans can test their skills in the resort’s snowpark, equipped with jumps, rails, and boxes. For those seeking more adventure, there are ample opportunities for off-piste skiing, particularly around the Bisanne and Planay areas.

Is Les Saisies Family-Friendly?

Les Saisies is an excellent choice for families, known for its relaxed atmosphere and a range of family-friendly amenities. The resort offers a safe and tranquil environment with many ski-in-ski-out accommodation options. Along with varied ski terrain, the resort also offers other activities such as dog sledding, tobogganing, and snowshoeing. 

Après-Ski Scene in Les Saisies

Les Saisies offers a warm and welcoming après-ski scene with a good selection of pubs, bars, and lounges. La Tartiflette is an excellent spot for a relaxed drink, while Le Benetton Bar, with its vibrant atmosphere, is perfect for a lively evening. 

For live music lovers, Le 1650 is the place to be. Those looking for a late-night destination will find Le Bowling, which doubles as a bar, a good option. 

Dining in Les Saisies

Les Saisies has a tempting array of restaurants serving a variety of cuisines. Le P’tit Montagnard offers delicious Savoyard specialities, while La Table des Armaillis provides an upscale dining experience with a gourmet menu. For a casual meal, Le Benetton’s Pizzeria serves fantastic pizzas and local dishes. 

For lunch with a view, there are numerous mountain restaurants such as Le Solaret and La Ferme de Légette, which can be reached on skis or on foot. 

How to Get to Les Saisies 

The quickest way to reach Les Saisies is to fly to Geneva Airport, which is approximately a 1h50m transfer from the resort. Other nearby airports include Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (2h), and Chambéry Airport (1h). For those travelling by train, Albertville is the nearest station (30m transfer). If you choose to drive, there is ample parking available in the resort.
