Folgarida Resort Overview

Sat at 1,300m in the heart of the Italian Dolomites, Folgarida is a charming, family-friendly ski resort with the highest lift reaching 2,180m. The resort is part of the extensive Val di Sole ski area, boasting 150km of beautifully groomed, skiable terrain.

Folgarida, built in the 1960s, is a car-free resort offering a delightful mix of traditional chalets and modern hotels, many of which provide convenient ski-in-ski-out access. The resort generally has a fantastic snow record and is typically snow-clad from December to April.

Skiing in Folgarida

Folgarida is a skier’s paradise with a variety of terrain to suit all skill levels. The resort offers two different lift pass options: a local pass giving access to 60km of pistes in Folgarida and Marilleva and a comprehensive Superskirama pass which opens up 150km of pisted terrain across the Val di Sole ski area.

For beginners, there are several gentle, wide slopes conveniently located near the resort centre. For intermediates, the resort offers a vast array of blue and red runs, including the thrilling Belvedere and Vigo runs. Advanced skiers can challenge themselves on the steep, black Direttissima Paradiso run.

The resort also caters well to freestyle skiers and snowboarders, with a dedicated snowpark featuring various jumps, rails and boxes.

Is Folgarida Family-friendly?

Folgarida is a fantastic ski resort for families, offering a safe, pedestrianised centre and a wide selection of family-friendly accommodation, including self-catered apartments and full-board hotels. The resort offers family lift pass deals and various child-friendly amenities, such as a children’s playground and a natural ice rink.

Après-Ski Scene in Folgarida

Folgarida’s après-ski scene is relaxed and family-friendly. The resort centre is home to several cosy bars and pubs where you can enjoy a drink after a day on the slopes. The popular Bar Al Sole is a great place for a fun evening with live music and a lively atmosphere. For a quieter evening, try the Piano Bar at the Hotel Alaska.

Folgarida offers a selection of delightful restaurants serving both local and international cuisine. La Moretina is a popular choice, known for its traditional Italian dishes and warm, welcoming atmosphere. For a meal with a view, try Rifugio Solander, a mountain hut restaurant offering panoramic views of the Dolomites.

How to Get to Folgarida

The easiest way to reach Folgarida from the UK is by air. The closest airports are Verona (2h 15m transfer), Bergamo (2h 40m), and Venice (3h 15m). If you are travelling by train, the nearest station is Mezzana, a 15-minute drive from the resort.
