Champéry Resort Overview

Champéry sits at 1,050m, with its highest ski lift reaching 2,466m. The resort forms part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, which offers an impressive 650km of skiable terrain, one of the largest ski areas in the world.

This traditional Swiss village is located in the heart of the Dents du Midi mountains and is known for its charming chalets, picturesque views and welcoming atmosphere. Champéry provides a range of accommodation to suit all needs, from luxury ski-in ski-out chalets, to cosy apartments and family-friendly hotels. It is ideally located, offering easy access to the surrounding skiing areas and enjoying reliable snowfall throughout the ski season, which usually runs from mid-December to mid-April.

Skiing in Champéry

Champéry offers remarkable skiing for all levels of ability. It provides access to the vast Portes du Soleil ski area, with the Champéry – Les Crosets ski pass granting access to over 100km of pistes, and the full Portes du Soleil ski pass allowing skiers to explore the entire 650km of pisted terrain.

For beginners, Champéry is a great place to discover the joy of skiing, with several gentle slopes and easy runs to build confidence. Intermediates can enjoy a diverse range of blue and red runs, including the beautiful, tree-lined slopes that lead back into the village.

Advanced skiers have an array of challenging pistes to choose from, including the Swiss Wall, infamous for its steep, mogul-strewn terrain. If you fancy going off-piste, there’s plenty of untouched snow to explore in the surrounding area.

Champéry also boasts a 200-metre half-pipe and a snowpark in Les Crosets, making it a great destination for freestyle enthusiasts.

Champéry is a fantastic ski resort for families, providing a safe, calm and welcoming environment for visitors of all ages. The pedestrianised village centre is perfect for families, and the range of ski-in-ski-out accommodation makes getting onto the slopes a breeze. The resort offers child-friendly amenities, including a dedicated children’s area at the ski station, an ice rink and numerous family-friendly restaurants.

Champéry offers a relaxed and friendly après-ski scene. The village is home to several delightful bars and pubs, offering a warm atmosphere and live music. The Palladium Sports Centre also offers indoor climbing, curling and swimming for those looking for a break from the slopes.

Dining in Champéry

Champéry boasts an excellent choice of eateries, ranging from gourmet restaurants to cosy mountain huts. We recommend trying Le Refuge, known for its traditional Swiss dishes, and the L’Atelier Gourmand, renowned for its modern, innovative cuisine. For a truly memorable dining experience, visit the mountain restaurant Chez Coquoz, which offers stunning views of the Dents du Midi.

How to Get To Champéry

The quickest way to get to Champéry from the UK is to fly to Geneva Airport, which is a 1h30m drive away. Other nearby airports include Sion Airport (1h40m) and Bern Airport (2h). If you’re travelling by train, the resort is conveniently served by a direct train from Geneva, which takes around 2 hours.
