Carezza Resort Overview

Located in the Dolomites at 1,620m with the highest ski lift reaching 2,337m, Carezza is a charming ski resort situated in South Tyrol, Italy. Its proximity to the majestic Rosengarten and Latemar mountains makes it a gateway to the expansive Dolomites Superski area, which offers 1,200km of diverse, skiable terrain.

Constructed in the 1950s, the picturesque resort offers a selection of traditional, wooden, ski-in-ski-out accommodation, as well as modern hotels and self-catered apartments. The resort is incredibly snow-sure, typically promising a white blanket at village level throughout the ski season, which typically runs from late November to early April.

Skiing in Carezza

Carezza offers exceptional skiing for all skill levels. With 41km of pisted terrain, the resort offers a variety of slopes from gentle beginner runs to challenging black runs for advanced skiers.

There is an abundance of beginner-friendly slopes in Carezza, including the Moseralm and Laurin I, perfect for new skiers to find their feet. Intermediate skiers can explore the wider Dolomites Superski area, with countless runs to choose from. We recommend experiencing the panoramic views on the seven blue trails accessible from the Rosengarten lift.

Advanced skiers are also well catered for in Carezza. The standout run is the black-rated Pra di Tori slope, renowned for its steep gradient and panoramic views of the Latemar. For those seeking off-piste skiing opportunities, the Dolomites Superski area offers endless possibilities for exploration.

Is Carezza Family-friendly?

Carezza is an excellent ski resort for families, renowned for its quiet, safe environment. The pedestrianised resort is home to a range of ski-in-ski-out accommodation options, many of which are self-catered. The resort caters to skiers of all abilities and provides numerous family-friendly facilities, including child-friendly restaurants, a winter playground, an ice-skating rink and a magical Christmas market.

Après-Ski Scene in Carezza

Carezza boasts a cosy, relaxed après ski scene, with several inviting bars and cafes dotted throughout the resort. Offering a more tranquil atmosphere than some of the larger, more bustling après ski destinations, Carezza is perfect for those seeking a laid-back evening after a day on the slopes.

The Moseralm Mountain Lounge is a popular après ski spot in Carezza, known for its live music and warm, welcoming environment. Alternatively, Bar Salt & Pepper offers delicious cocktails and an extensive wine list, while the Bar Fronza is a cosy spot for a quiet drink.

Dining in Carezza

Carezza offers a range of fantastic dining options. In the resort, Pizzeria Welschnofen serves delicious, authentic Italian pizza, while Restaurant Laurin Lounge offers gourmet Italian cuisine with panoramic views. For a spot of mountain dining, Rifugio Fronza and Malga Frommer Alm boast large, sunny terraces and serve traditional Tyrolean dishes.

How to Get to Carezza

The quickest way to get to Carezza from the UK is by flying to Innsbruck Airport, a 1h30m transfer from the resort. Other nearby airports include Verona Airport (2h) and Venice Marco Polo Airport (3h). If you’re travelling by train, Bolzano is the nearest station, a 40-minute transfer from Carezza. If you prefer to drive, parking is available at the resort.
