St Ulrich, also known as Ortisei, is a picturesque resort, renowned for its charming atmosphere and spectacular skiing. Sitting at 1,236m, this mid-altitude resort is part of the renowned Dolomiti Superski, offering 1,200km of skiable terrain and typically boasting some of the best snow conditions in the Dolomites. The Seceda and Alpe di Siusi ski areas are easily accessible from the resort and provide fantastic skiing opportunities with breathtaking views across the Val Gardena.

With a comprehensive and efficient lift system and links to neighbouring resorts of Selva and Santa Cristina, there is an array of terrain to explore. Catering to all ski levels, from novice to expert, St Ulrich offers an array of runs, exciting off-piste skiing and excellent snowparks.

St Ulrich Ski Area

The ski area in St Ulrich comprises three main areas: Seceda, Alpe di Siusi and Rasciesa. The ski area consists of 175km of runs, with 52% being blue, 32% red and 16% black. The ski area is known for its well-maintained pistes, modern lift system and spectacular views of the surrounding Dolomite mountains.

Beginner Skiing in St Ulrich

St Ulrich is an ideal resort for beginners with lots of gentle runs. The ski area offers ample blue runs that are perfect for beginners, such as the Ortisei – Furnes and the Ortisei – Rasciesa.

Intermediate Skiing in St Ulrich

St Ulrich offers a plethora of options for intermediate skiers. The Alpe di Siusi area is particularly popular, featuring a network of wide and cruisy red runs. The Seceda area also offers a range of challenging red runs, including the famous 10km-long La Longia, which descends from the top of Seceda down to Ortisei, boasting a 1,273m vertical drop.

Advanced Skiing in St Ulrich

St Ulrich is not short of challenging terrain for advanced skiers. The Seceda area is home to the renowned Piz Sella piste, a challenging black run that offers stunning views across the Dolomites. Another must-try run is the Saslong, a World Cup downhill run in the neighbouring resort of Selva. This exhilarating piste is known for its steep sections and tight turns, providing a thrilling challenge for skilled skiers.

Off-piste Skiing in St Ulrich

St Ulrich provides several opportunities for off-piste skiing. The Val Mezdi route, accessed from the top of the Sass Pordoi cable car, is a popular choice amongst experienced skiers and boasts an impressive 1,800m vertical drop! It’s essential to hire a guide or instructor for off-piste skiing to ensure safety. St Ulrich has plenty of knowledgeable and experienced guides available to safely guide skiers through the off-piste terrain.

Snowparks in St Ulrich

St Ulrich features two excellent snowparks; the Piz Sella Snowpark and the Alpe di Siusi Snowpark. Both parks cater to all skill levels, featuring jumps, boxes and rails for freestyle skiers and snowboarders to practice their tricks.
