Ovindoli is an enchanting resort with a lively atmosphere and spectacular skiing. Situated at 1,400m, this high-altitude resort forms part of the Sirente Velino ski area, offering 30km of skiable terrain and is often acclaimed for its typically reliable snow conditions. Ovindoli also has a snowpark for freestyle enthusiasts, adding to the variety of its ski offerings.

With an efficient and modern lift system and linked to the neighbouring resort of Rocca di Mezzo, there is extensive terrain to discover. Ovindoli caters well for beginners and intermediate skiers, offering a range of runs and off-piste skiing as well as a variety of beginner-friendly areas.

Ovindoli Ski Area

The ski area in Ovindoli is comprised of three main areas; Le Fosse, Monte Freddo and Magnola, all accessible directly from the resort. The ski area in Ovindoli includes 22 runs, with 32% being green, 41% blue, 23% red and 4% black.

Beginner Skiing in Ovindoli

Despite its reputation as a haven for intermediate skiers, Ovindoli hosts plenty of gentle nursery slopes and wide, forgiving runs suitable for beginners. The excellent snow conditions make it an ideal learning environment, with two main nursery slopes, one in the resort and one at the top of the Monte Magnola gondola. Once you’ve gained confidence on the nursery slopes, there are designated beginner areas to explore, such as the Aquila and Orso runs.

Intermediate Skiing in Ovindoli

Ovindoli is a superb resort for intermediate skiers, providing plenty of blue and red runs to explore. The Monte Freddo area is a great spot for lower-intermediate skiers, boasting a variety of wide, sweeping blues. More advanced intermediate skiers should head to the Le Fosse area and ski down from Piazzale dello Snowpark. The Cervo run, a thrilling red course, is highly recommended. Ovindoli offers various challenging blues and reds to push your skiing abilities to the limit, but keep in mind that the grading system is a touch more challenging compared to other resorts in Italy.

Advanced Skiing in Ovindoli

Ovindoli offers a thrilling experience for advanced skiers. The resort presents two black runs, the Lupo and the Gufo, both providing a thrilling descent with challenging terrain. The Lupo run, known for its steep sections and exciting terrain, is a must-try for any advanced skier visiting Ovindoli.

Off-piste Skiing in Ovindoli

Ovindoli offers exciting off-piste skiing opportunities, with the Sirente Velino Natural Park providing a thrilling terrain of steep chutes and snowy bowls. The most popular off-piste area is the Vallone delle Rose, offering an exhilarating 700m vertical descent. Remember, when venturing off-piste, it’s crucial to hire a local guide or instructor equipped with the skills and knowledge to ensure your safety.

Snowparks in Ovindoli

For freestyle enthusiasts, Ovindoli has a dedicated snowpark. The Ovindoli Snowpark is located on the Monte Freddo slope and is divided into three areas catering for different skill levels. It is equipped with jumps, rails and boxes, providing a great playground for those looking to practise their tricks.
