Arosa Lenzerheide Ski Area

The ski area in Arosa Lenzerheide is divided into three main areas: Stätzerhorn, Rothorn and Weisshorn. Each area can be accessed directly from the town centre. Arosa Lenzerheide consists of 105 runs, with 20% green, 40% blue, 30% red and 10% black.

Beginner Skiing in Arosa Lenzerheide

Arosa Lenzerheide is a perfect resort for beginners, offering many nursery slopes and easy, wide runs. The excellent snow conditions are ideal for learners, with two main nursery slopes located in the village and at the top of the Weisshorn gondola. Once you’ve mastered the nursery slopes, you can explore designated beginner areas, such as Tschuggen and Prätschli. The easier runs in Arosa Lenzerheide are at higher altitudes, with the pistes becoming more challenging as you ski down to the resort. If you’re still building confidence, consider taking the lifts back down.

Intermediate Skiing in Arosa Lenzerheide

Arosa Lenzerheide is an excellent resort for intermediate skiers, offering a plethora of blue and red runs. The Rothorn area, with its wide, gentle blues, is a great spot for lower-intermediate skiers. More advanced intermediate skiers should head to the Stätzerhorn area and ski down to Churwalden. A must-try run in this area for intermediate skiers is the Cumascheals run – a thrilling red slope that is a favourite among returning visitors. There are plenty of challenging blues and reds in Arosa Lenzerheide to push your limits, but bear in mind that the grading system is more challenging compared to other resorts in Switzerland.

Advanced Skiing in Arosa Lenzerheide

Arosa Lenzerheide is well-regarded as a top resort for advanced skiers. The resort boasts a variety of challenging black runs. The most renowned of these is the Silvano Beltrametti, named after the Swiss ski racer. This run, with its steep incline and 1,000m vertical descent, is a favourite among advanced skiers. For an even more challenging run, head to the Weisshorn Speed. This long, ungroomed mogul descent will keep your adrenaline pumping.

Off-piste Skiing in Arosa Lenzerheide

Arosa Lenzerheide is a paradise for adventurous skiers, boasting some of the best lift-served off-piste skiing in Switzerland. From steep chutes to snowy bowls, there are plenty of off-piste terrains to explore. The Tschuggen and Hörnli areas are popular among experienced skiers, offering exhilarating vertical drops. Always consider hiring a local guide or instructor when venturing off-piste to ensure your safety.
