Skiing in Montafon
Montafon is a haven for skiers of all levels. The resort offers a variety of lift pass options allowing guests to enjoy the entire 295km of pisted terrain that the Montafon ski area has to offer.
Beginners will find a host of gentle, wide slopes to hone their skills on. The Madrisa area is particularly suitable for novice skiers, with several forgiving runs to try.
For intermediates, the options are vast. The Hochjoch area is particularly recommended, with its wide variety of red runs. For an extra thrill, try the 12km-long Hochjoch Totale descent, which takes you from the top of the resort right down to the valley floor.
Advanced skiers are catered for too, with challenging black runs and off-piste skiing opportunities. The Black Scorpions slopes in the Silvretta Nova area provide some of the steepest and most exhilarating runs in the resort.
Montafon also has a reputation for its freestyle offerings. The Snowpark Montafon in the Silvretta Nova area is a hotspot for freestyle skiing and snowboarding, with a range of obstacles and jumps to test your mettle.

The pedestrianised centre is safe and easy to navigate, and the resort offers a range of family-friendly facilities, including a children’s ski area, indoor and outdoor play areas, and even a petting zoo.

Montafon has a lively après ski scene, with a good selection of bars and restaurants to unwind in after a day on the slopes. Cap off your day with a visit to the popular Umbrella Six, a lively bar at the base of the slopes offering live music and a convivial atmosphere.

You’ll find a wide range of dining options in Montafon. In the resort itself, the Bergrestaurant Bella Nova offers hearty regional dishes with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. For a gourmet experience, head to the Grasjoch Hütte, known for its innovative take on traditional Austrian cuisine. If you’re on the slopes, the Kapellrestaurant offers a variety of tasty dishes and a sun terrace where you can soak up the views.

The quickest way to get to Montafon from the UK is to fly. The three closest airports are Friedrichshafen (90km away), Innsbruck (150km away) and Zurich (170km away). From these airports, the resort can be reached by train or shuttle service.
